— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club freestyle moguls team wrapped up the season during the weekend in Winter Park with the Spring Cool Down.

The event serves as the finale for the season, but results and points count toward next season.

The Winter Sports Club had 17 athletes participate with several podium finishes.

In the girls single moguls competition, Lane Stoltzner was first and Jaelin Kauf was third.

On the men’s side, George DeGrandis was fourth, Skyler Kauf was seventh, and Brad Hoefer was 11th. It was the final moguls event for the three seniors as each will attend college next year.

On duals day, Jaelin Kauf continued her strong season with a win. On the boys side, Skyler Kauf was second.

“Overall, it was a great season,” coach Mike Amato said. “I think all the kids are happy to be done, but we’ll miss it a bit. It was a great year. They were focused and worked hard.”

The team will take off May before starting at the water ramps in June. There likely will be an on-snow camp in Mount Hood, Ore., at the end of July or early August.

“I think we were all psyched with the year but are looking forward to some time off,” Amato said.
