Police, fire and ambulance calls

Midnight Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a complaint about a noise in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue.

12:35 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an incoming inmate at the Routt County Jail who was in possession of cocaine. During a search of the inmate, a 24-year-old Steamboat man, jail staff discovered the man had cocaine hidden in one of his shoes. The man initially was arrested at Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue on an outstanding warrant. After the drugs were discovered, he also was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully possessing a Schedule 2 drug and introducing contraband into a detention facility.

1:54 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the Fish Creek Trailer Park.

4:59 a.m. Officers were called to a complaint about a noise in the 200 block of Sixth Street.

2:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who was bitten by a dog in the 600 block of Yampa Street. Police said the dog lunged out from a car window and bit a person walking by. The dog's owner was cited for possessing a vicious animal.

2:23 p.m. Officers were called to a complaint about a noise in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue.

4:23 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a hit-and-run in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive.

9:33 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the first block of East Maple Street. Officers found a person smoking marijuana inside the vehicle and cited him or her for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

10:30 p.m. Officers spotted a bonfire on Emerald Mountain. Police hiked up to the bonfire and found four college-age students drinking around the fire. The bonfire attendees all were issued court summonses for possessing alcohol as minors, and firefighters extinguished the fire.

11:43 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police said someone stole a bike from a business and left another bike in its place.

11:59 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a fight at Yampa and Eighth streets. No other information was available.
