— When it meets tonight, the Steamboat Springs School Board will get a close-up look at how Steamboat's public schools fared in the state's annual accreditation process. The discussion will likely be a positive one.

For the third year in a row, all of Steamboat's main campuses earned the highest possible accreditation rating, and the district was "Accredited with Distinction."

Curicullum Director Marty Lamansky will review the school performance frameworks for each of the district's campuses.

The reports are used by the Colorado Department of Education and outline how students fared on the Transitional Colorado Student Assessment Program, or TCAP, among other academic measures.

Also at tonight's meeting, Superintendent Brad Meeks will update the board on the district's bid for the city's accommodations tax.

Meeks said Monday that the district will seek the board's input on how to proceed with bids for the tax the district is pursuing to construct a new turf field or field house.

The school district is one of several suitors of the tax that are now working to complete a more detailed application deemed a "request for proposal."
