Vehicle crashes into Oak Creek fire station; suspect sought
Tuesday, October 30, 2012
Steamboat Springs The Oak Creek Police Department on Tuesday morning was trying to figure out who crashed a vehicle into the town’s downtown fire station Monday night.
Oak Creek Fire Protection District Chief Chuck Wisecup said there was minor damage to the station. A half-dozen bricks had been knocked out of a wall. However, Wisecup doesn’t think there’s any structural damage to the building, and the town’s insurance company is being contacted.
Wisecup said several people heard the crash at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, and one person was able to provide a description of a truck that drove away from the scene. The vehicle is thought to be a Dodge truck because officers found a Dodge badge at the crash site.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police department at 970-736-8355.
