Steamboat Springs City Manager Jon Roberts resigns. Roberts turned in his resignation at Tuesday night's City Council meeting effective Wednesday. “There aren't any specifics I would point to. I think it's just in the best interest for me and my family to move on to other endeavors.”

At Tuesday's meeting, the City Council ruled out demolishing the Iron Horse Inn to build a police station. But the quest to find a new location for police and fire stations became more urgent after the council also approved the sale of it's station on Yampa Street to Big Agnes for $2.1 million.

Peabody Energy goes public with plans for a reservoir on Trout Creek. The company that operates Twentymile Mine and is ramping up operations at its Sage Creek portal confirmed to Routt County commissioners that it has plans for a reservoir on Trout and Middle creeks that will supply water to its mining operations and produce a modest amount of hydroelectric power.

Hahn's Peak Roadhouse is given another chance. The Routt County Board of Commissioners agreed to bring the owners of Hahn's Peak Roadhouse back on Oct. 23 to look at ways its permit might be amended in the short term to allow for live music.

Steamboat volleyball falters against Middle Park. Steamboat Spring High School volleyball started up, but Middle Park came back from a two set deficit to win.

An ice castle is a possibility for Steamboat. The creators of the ice castle in Silverthorne last year are looking for a spot for a similar attraction in Steamboat.

Calls are up for Routt County Search and Rescue Business suddenly has picked up for Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers, who have received five calls for help since Oct. 9.

Showers could bring more relief to Yampa River flows. The next chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service, was expected Tuesday night with a 30 percent chance of showers in the midst of gusty winds.
