Library will waive overdue fines for Teen Read Week

As part of Teen Read Week, the Bud Werner Memorial Library will waive overdue fines for teens ages 13 to 18 who visit the library from Sunday to Oct. 20. Forest Service Project in Routt County approved

The Medicine Bow-Routt Resource Advisory Committee recommended funding for U.S. Forest Service projects totaling $142,643 at a Sept. 13 meeting in Walden, according to a news release. Projects were approved in Albany, Carbon, Jackson, Rio Blanco and Routt counties. In Routt County, $42,442 was approved for Buffalo Pass Road Improvements. The projects will be funded through Secure Rural Schools Title II funds from 2012, and most of the projects will be completed in 2013, according to the release.

Cultural integration group seeking bilingual volunteers

Integrated Community is seeking bilingual volunteers to assist the organization with its resource and referral program on Mondays and Wednesdays. Volunteers must speak Spanish, enjoy helping the immigrant community and be respectful and mature. Training is provided. Call Sheila at 970-871-4599.
