Colleen King, volleyball

2010 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at University of Denver

King had a personal-best 22 kills Saturday as the Pioneers lost a five-set match to Utah State, the top team in the Western Athletic Conference. King had a hitting percentage of .370 for the game and also assisted on four blocks. Earlier in the week, King had five kills in a three-set loss to San Jose State. King continues to lead the 8-7 Pioneers in kills and points, and she is second on the team in blocks.

Hannah Berglund, soccer

2009 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Colorado College

Berglund, a goalkeeper, made four saves Sunday as Colorado College shut out the University of Alabama-Birmingham, 1-0, in a Conference USA match in Colorado Springs. Berglund is 4-1-0 in goal this season and has given up just two goals for a 0.46 goals against average. She has 12 saves and has recorded two shutouts this season for the Tigers, who are 8-3-4 overall and 3-2-1 in Conference USA.

Jamey Swiggart, tennis

2012 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, freshman at Idaho State University

Swiggart competed in the Appleton Classic hosted by Boise State on Saturday and Sunday in Boise, Idaho. Swiggart defeated Will Cochrane, of Portland State, 6-2, 6-2, in the first round before losing, 7-6, 6-1, to Brent Chin, of Oregon, in the second. Swiggart and partner Austin Miller also advanced out of the first round in doubles, defeating Eduardo Bringold and Cody Smith, of Eastern Washington, 8-2. Swiggart and Miller dropped their second-round match 9-7 to Alvarao Nazal and Vicente Varas, of Gonzaga.

Austin Hinder, football

2010 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, redshirt sophomore at Cal-Berkeley

Hinder, a quarterback, is listed third on the depth chart for the Golden Bears behind senior starter Zach Maynard and junior backup Allan Bridgford. The Golden Bears, who have seven quarterbacks on their roster, generally dress four for each game. Cal snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday, beating 23rd-ranked UCLA, 43-17.

Treyben Letlow, football

2011 graduate of Hayden High School, redshirt freshman at CSU-Pueblo

Letlow, a tight end, recorded playing time in his third straight game Saturday as CSU-Pueblo downed Chadron State, 45-38, in overtime. Letlow played on special teams. CSU-Pueblo, ranked third in the country in NCAA Division 2, is now 6-0.

Cody Miles, football

2010 graduate of Soroco High School, redshirt sophomore at Fort Lewis College

Miles, who starts at defensive end for the Skyhawks, had two tackles and broke up a pass in the Skyhawks’ 58-16 loss to Colorado School of Mines. Miles has 20 tackles on the season, including three for losses.

Emi Birch, soccer

2010 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at Hamilton College

Birch, a midfielder, saw her first action of the season Tuesday as Hamilton fought to a scoreless tie with Williams College in a match on the Hamilton campus in Clinton, N.Y. Birch also played in a 1-0 loss to Middlebury on Saturday in Vermont. Hamilton is 6-2-1 on the season.

Shelby Struble, soccer

2011 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, sophomore at Milwaukee School of Engineering

Struble started and got a shot on goal Saturday as MSOE beat Alverno College of Milwaukee, 5-0. It was the second straight win for MSOE, which beat Marantha Baptist, 4-1, on Thursday. The Raiders are now 8-6-1 on the season. Struble has started every game but one in her two-year career at MSOE.
