On The Market: Bank sales plummet from 18 to 8 in August

Stan Urban, of Land Title Guarantee Co., reports that bank sales in Routt County during August took a nosedive from 18 in July to eight in the last full month of summer.
Of the eight, two were vacant building lots in Oak Creek, both selling for less than $30,000.
The highest bank sale was a home in Old Town Steamboat Springs that sold for $850,000, or $224 per square foot.
Year-to-date bank sales total 129 for a gross valuation of $34.74 million or 11.26 percent of the total year-to-date dollar volume of $308.5 million.
Dollar volume in August was down 6.55 percent to $43.47 million compared with August 2011; however, unit volume was up slightly in the same period to 138 transactions.
Manifesto joins Cantafio Eddington law practice
Jean Manifesto has joined the Cantafio Eddington law firm as an associate, according to a news release. Manifesto’s practice will emphasize litigation, long-term estate planning and elder law. Manifesto has practiced law for more than 20 years. She has a law degree from Duquesne University, a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. Manifesto will be practicing out of the Cantafio Eddington offices in Steamboat and Denver.
