Steamboat Springs 2009 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, redshirt junior at University of Colorado
Wood caught one pass for 34 yards in Saturday’s 42-35 season-ending loss to Utah. The Buffaloes dropped to 1-11 on the season and 1-8 in the Pac 12. The play was Wood’s longest gain of the season. He finished with seven catches for 103 yards. He also had two tackles and two fumble recoveries on the season before Saturday’s game.
Isaiah Mendoza-Forsyth, basketball
2011 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, freshman at Johnson & Wales
Mendoza-Forsyth played in three games for Johnson & Wales last week and finished with five points as his team went 1-2. He played 13 minutes, sank a 3-point shot and scored another bucket in an 88-50 win against Missouri’s Baptist Bible. He also had an assist and two steals in 13 minutes of action in that game. He played a combined 16 minutes in losses to Metro State and Colorado Christian.
Johnson & Wales is 1-9 on the season.
Mike Vandahl, basketball
2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Western State University
Vandahl scored eight points on 3 of 9 shooting and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line Saturday in a game against Oklahoma Panhandle State. Western State lost the game, 91-88, slipping to 1-3 on the season. The team won earlier in the week, knocking off Northern New Mexico, 70-68. Statistics were not available for that contest.
Colleen King, volleyball
2010 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, junior at University of Denver
The Pioneer’s volleyball season came to an end Monday in a three-set sweep at the hands of New Mexico State at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in San Antonio, Texas.
King finished with six kills in the match, third on the team. She had 342 on the season to lead the team.
James Terry, ice hockey
2007 graduate of Steamboat springs High School, senior at Northern Arizona, Flagstaff
Terry has three goals in two assists playing in seven games this season for the IceJacks. The squad is 11-3 overall and ranked fifth in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
