Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs Police Department is investigating what happened to a 22-year-old Steamboat Springs man who was found early Friday morning in the westbound lane of traffic on Lincoln Avenue near Conestoga Circle.
Sgt. Rich Brown said the man was found with a laceration on the back of his head and was conscious. Police said the man was highly intoxicated and unable to tell officers what happened. The incident was reported by passing motorists at about 1:15 a.m.
Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters took the man to Yampa Valley Medical Center and he then was transferred to a Denver hospital. The man’s condition was unavailable Friday night.
Police are investigating the incident.
“It didn’t appear at the scene that a car was involved,” Brown said.
