The schools are winding down for the year with several classes doing end-of-year activities. The fifth-grade class toured the middle school Monday. The kindergartners went swimming Tuesday, the fourth- and fifth-graders went swimming Wednesday and the second- and third-graders went swimming Thursday. The kindergartners had a Safety Day field trip Thursday. The first-graders went to Mountain Valley Bank for a tour Friday, when they met all the employees to complete their lesson on money. Ruby Wertenberger went to their classroom and talked to them about saving money, and they all received a gift. 

The kindergartners will have their field day Tuesday, and the first-graders will go to Town Park on Wednesday. The end-of-year assembly is at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the talent show is at 2 p.m. Saturday in the high school auditorium.

There will be two more open houses regarding a potential rezoning of Hayden’s downtown historic district. The first is from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, and the second is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. High school graduation is at 11 a.m. Saturday.
