— The Steamboat Springs High School soccer team continued its early season success, winning its group at the Colorado Academy Soccer tournament and advancing into Saturday's final against the host school.

On Friday, Steamboat notched a 4-0 win against Middle Park and played some of its best soccer of the year.

“The second half was probably the sharpest 40 minutes that we have played,” Steamboat coach Rob Bohlmann said.

Ali Pougiales got the scoring started early, and Kelbi Rogers put the Sailors up 2-0 at the half.

Then in the 50th minute, Steamboat put the game away when Sydney Bauknecht scored on a feed from Gabrielle Bohlmann.

Lara Henry finished the scoring for Steamboat.

The team now moves into a 3 p.m. championship game Saturday against Colorado Academy.

“There has been a good sharpness and cohesion to the group,” Rob Bohlmann said. “So we’re feeling good about it.”
