Steamboat Springs With where the Steamboat Springs High School boys lacrosse team is, games like Friday’s aren’t unusual.
Steamboat dominated every aspect of the game in Grand Junction, beating Durango, 19-1.
“We’re clearly ahead of them,” Steamboat coach Bob Hiester said. “We played pretty well. It’s hard to play a team that isn’t the caliber of Rock Canyon.”
On Tuesday, Steamboat lost 10-9 to Rock Canyon in overtime. Rock Canyon is ranked No. 9 in Colorado according to www.laxpower.com.
On Friday, Steamboat had 13 players score and got assists on 14 of the goals.
Steamboat (2-1) continues play at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Springs.
“We have to play our game and not play down to anyone’s level,” Hiester said.
