Steamboat's Nicolas Veth takes 3rd at Junior Nationals giant slalom

Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skier Nicolas Veth wrapped up a speedy week at the J2 Junior Nationals on Sunday, recording a third-place finish in the giant slalom race.
Veth won the super-G two days prior and was close to the top of the podium again Sunday. He recorded the fastest first-run time but was slower on the second. His two-run combined time was 2 minutes, 16.24 seconds. Ty Sprock won at 2:14.50, and Jeremy Epstein was second at 2:16.19.
