Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs High School boys basketball team landed three players on the all-Western Slope League team.
Seniors Jake Miller and Kit Croop were named to the first team, and sophomore Carter Kounovsky was honorable mention.
“I think they all filled different roles on our team,” Steamboat coach Luke DeWolfe said. “I think especially in Jake and Kit’s circumstance, their play definitely shined in the overall view of the coaches in the league. Those guys deserved the award.”
Kounovsky, who will be one of only two returning starters next season, will be expected to lead a young Sailors team.
“He has the work ethic and desire to be a great basketball player,” DeWolfe said. “It’s great to have that stability coming back.”
