Steamboat Springs Jody Mosser, of the Glen Eden Family Restaurant and Tavern, confirmed Wednesday that after a three-year run, Friday will be the last day of operation for the business associated with the larger Glen Eden Resort in Clark.
Before opening the restaurant, Mosser and his wife, Stephanie, managed nearby Round Mountain Ranch for more than five years.
Mosser, who began working in restaurants as a youngster, said that they had bad timing with the Glen Eden dining room and that they have missed the steady trade of construction workers the restaurant enjoyed before they signed the lease.
“We bought it right when the bottom fell out (of the economy), and this winter, I guess, we just had too long a dry spell,” he said.
Glen Eden Resort front office manager Toni Klohr said that the Mossers chose not to renew their lease and that the residential homeowners association that owns the commercial building housing the restaurant would like to have a new operator in place in time for a busy summer season. Glen Eden Resort remains open with guest lodging as usual.
Interested restaurant operators may call property manager Sandie Greenway at 970-879-3907.
“We’d like to thank our loyal customers,” Mosser said.
