High temperature to creep back into the 90s for Steamboat

— A red flag warning is back in effect for Steamboat Springs and Routt County today. Today’s high temperature is expected to crest the 90-degree mark. No precipitation is in the forecast.

A high pressure system will keep sunny skies and daily highs in the low to mid-90s in place through the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

A red flag warning means dangerous fire conditions exist and any new or existing fires will likely spread rapidly.

The Yampa River in downtown Steamboat is flowing at just 48 cubic feet per second this morning, down from its historic June 28 average of 1,010 cfs.
