13 cars broken into in Steamboat

Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs Police Department received 13 reports by Tuesday afternoon of cars that had been broken into Monday night.
“Every car had been left unlocked,” Sgt. Scott Middleton said. He encouraged people to lock their doors.
The break-ins occurred in the area of Chinook Lane and Sparta Plaza.
He said it appeared the only things taken from the cars were change and cash.
“There were high-value items in the cars that were left,” Middleton said.

Punks. Fortunately, I'm out in the sticks & quite unlikely to be burgled. When I'm in town on errands, my 93 pound security system (Meigs, the Bouvier des Flandres) is with me more often than not. I never worry about leaving my vehicle wide open with the keys in the ignition whilst Meigs is on duty. If you can get past him, you've earned whatever you took.

Nobody messes with "my" boat; I don't even close it up when I go to the showers, and you could pick the lock with a toothpick when I venture elsewhere.
Our cove bears some resemblance to Whistler Village, in that our slips are parallel like their streets. It's somewhere south of Houston, and that's as much information as I'll provide your local criminals. Thanks for the reminder that every silver lining has a cloud.

Jerry -- I only got the burgers wherever the oilfield crew my cousin initially stuck me with, dragged me to (the hotties at Hooter's in heels had hellacious egos, undeserved, in my opinion, since they all looked synthetic, in every way that can be taken) but the burgers were good, probably Angus, which has apparently swept the country, even here in Texas, Longhorns only raised for show these days. The fish-and-chips was Alaskan halibut. That town was Humble (H being silent) and indeed it was.
The coconut shrimp over at the nearby resort/amusement park was to die for, by far the best I've ever had. Now based on your recommendation, I must try the flounder too.
To undigress this detour, I'll just say, thieves get more brazen, the more they get away with it, and these kids' ways will catch up with them, not soon enough.
