Fifth Street closure planned for Thursday in Steamboat

The Union Pacific Railroad will be installing a new panel at Fifth Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. During the project, Fifth Street will be closed from Yampa Street to River Road. Call Ron Berig, of the street/fleet department, at 970-879-1807 with questions.

Willow Creek Road to be closed for improvements

Routt National Forest Road 106, also known as Willow Creek Road, will be closed for road improvements at water crossings starting Monday, according to a news release. Planned improvements to the road include installation of culverts and the creation of a low-water crossing. The project is expected to be completed in six weeks.

LiveWell helping families to improve eating habits

LiveWell Northwest Colorado is helping families be healthy by working to improve eating habits and to be more physically active through the “Let’s Go! 5-2-1-0” program. The program sets the goal each day of eating five or more fruits and vegetables, watching two or fewer hours of TV, getting an hour or more of physical activity and drinking zero sugary drinks. Steamboat cemetery asks for flower, wreath removal

The Steamboat Springs Cemetery board requests that all flowers and wreaths that were placed at the cemetery for Memorial Day and are not attached to or part of headstones be removed by Sunday. Flowers and wreaths not picked up by this date will be collected by maintenance personnel and kept for a short time at the maintenance shed to be claimed by family members.
