The Hayden Public Library proudly announces the sixth Reader of the Week in the annual Summer Reading Program.
Cameron Campbell, of Hayden, was chosen as this week’s reader. He will be 6 years old in August and a first-grader in the fall. Cameron visits the library with his mom and brothers and participates in the weekly programs. He is the middle child of three boys, Kyler, 8, and Carson, 3. His parents are Danielle and Nathan. His pets include five chickens, two goats and a dog named Marley.
Cameron has lived in Hayden all his life. He likes to play with his friends Liam, Grady and Daylon. He says when he grows up, he hopes to become a police officer.
His favorite color is orange, and his favorite food is macaroni. His favorite move is “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” He enjoys playing with the Frentress boys on the trampoline, riding bikes, playing games and having sleepovers. In school last year, he liked painting, and his favorite sports are basketball and baseball. He enjoys reading the book “In a People House” by Theo LeSeig. During summer, his family enjoys visiting the Craig pool and Elkhead Lake.
When asked whether he had any advice for other children about reading, he said, “Reading makes you learn how to read.” Cameron said he was “happy” when he found out he was named Reader of the Week.
As the Reader of the Week, Cameron gets to choose the food for the following week at Bingo and Cooking. Cameron has chosen to make Rice Krispies treats.
