The Steamboat Springs all-star traveling lacrosse team won the Summit County Lacrosse Classic, finishing 5-0 and outscoring its opponents, 42-9.
“This weekend was a great tuneup for Champ Camp,” coach Neill Redfern said. “Our offensive players were able to gain some confidence as we were able break down the other teams in transition and settled offense.”
The team leaves this week for Baltimore for the highly competitive Champ Camp. The camp draws the top players and teams from across the country.
“The boys seem pretty excited for Champ Camp,” Redfern said. “Our first game is at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins, the most hallowed venue in the sport.”
