— A 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man was issued a summons for DUI and taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center after crashing his motorcycle on South Lincoln Avenue near Mount Werner Road on Thursday afternoon.

Steamboat Springs Police Department officer Evan Driscoll said Robert Jones was driving west on South Lincoln Avenue at about 4 p.m. when he hit a median and lost control. Driscoll said a witness saw Jones take his hands off the handlebars.

Driscoll said that Jones showed signs of intoxication and that Jones admitted to drinking.

He was issued a DUI summons and then taken to YVMC. His condition was not immediately available Friday. Driscoll said Jones was conscious and alert after the crash.

Jones was listed Friday as being in good condition at YVMC.
