Steamboat Springs Despite icy conditions, Steamboat Springs snowboarder Matt Ladley finished third in the half-pipe event on Sunday at the second stop for the Winter Dew Tour.
Competing in Killington, Vt., Ladley finished with a score of 89. Iouri Podladtchikov was first with a 96.75, and Louie Vito was second with a 95.25.
“It was good to get on the podium at the Dew Tour,” Ladley said. “Again, I was glad I got out there but frustrated I’m not doing the double corks. It was a challenging pipe. It was super icy. During the two days of practice, it was nearly impossible to hold an edge.”
Ladley left Tuesday for Aspen where he’ll compete in the Winter X Games for the second time.
