Woman skis into snowmobile at Steamboat Ski Area

— A 71-year-old woman was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center with leg injuries after skiing into a parked snowmobile at Steamboat Ski Area on Tuesday morning.

The snowmobile was parked at the bottom of the Bashor chairlift, Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. spokeswoman Loryn Kasten said.

Ski patrol brought the woman off the mountain, and she was taken to YVMC by Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters.

Kasten said ski patrol was continuing to investigate the accident.

Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue Lt. Chuck Cerasoli said the woman had damage to her extremities and possibly a broken leg.
