Australians Max Miller and Greg Whitehead finished first and second, respectively, on the opening day’s boarder cross. The two did the same on Sunday, with teammate Kevin Keough taking third for a Steamboat podium sweep.

Belle Brockhoff returned to snowboard cross and took first on the opening day and second on Sunday in the Open Class. Rosie Mancari was third on both days.

Annabel Tudhope and Brooke Brewer finished first and second, respectively, in the 16-17 division on Saturday. Cody Winters won both boarder cross days in the boys 10-11 age group.

Brant Crossan won both days in the open class ski cross event.

Jarryd Hughes was fourth Sunday in the open snowboard cross event.

The competitions open a big month for the Winter Sports Club’s snowboard program.

This weekend, Copper Mountain will play host to a NorAm ski and snowboard cross event. The Winter Sports Club also will have several former riders competing in the Winter X Games from Jan. 25 to 31. Matt Ladley and Maddy Schaffrick will compete in the halfpipe, with Callan Chythlook-Sifsof competing in women’s snowboard cross. Chloe Banning is an alternate for women’s snowboard cross.
