— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club freestyle moguls team picked up three top-10 finishes at a pair of moguls events Saturday and Sunday in Aspen.

Leading the way for Steamboat was George DeGrandis.

DeGrandis picked up his first-ever podium with a third-place finish in Sunday’s open moguls event. DeGrandis also was fifth in Saturday’s junior moguls event.

“That was a pretty big deal for him and us,” coach Mike Amatto said. “We’re having good results, and with bigger competitions up ahead it’s giving them a lot of motivation to train hard.”

In Saturday’s event, Skyler Kauf was the top finisher, placing fifth. Other finishers included Nicholas Simon in 42nd, Zach Rosa in 47th and Mckenyon King in 54th.

On Sunday, Kauf was 11th, and Stephen Wilson was 12th.

Steamboat next competes in a single mogul event on Saturday and a dual mogul event on Sunday. Both competitions will be in Vail.
