Lu Etta Loeber: Keep up the fight

On Dec. 22, our family lost my beloved grandson Henry. Henry was 16 and profoundly autistic.

For many of you who know me, my passion the past six years has been providing services and programming for local families affected by an autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities through the Yampa Valley Autism Program. This was Henry’s gift to me.

I want to thank all of you who have called, sent cards and given us the love and support we need at this time. I am reminded of the kindness, caring and community spirit that exists here in the Yampa Valley.

Autism is the fastest growing disability in the U.S. — more so than childhood diabetes and Down syndrome. We must find a cause and a cure.

Lu Etta Loeber

Director, Yampa Valley Autism Program
