South Routt School Board President Tim Corrigan is expected on Wednesday to become the first Democratic candidate to join the race for the District 1 Routt County commissioner seat, according to a news release from the Routt County Democrats.
According to the release, Corrigan will announce his candidacy at noon Wednesday during a meet-and-greet on the steps of the Routt County Courthouse.
Corrigan — a metal stud, drywall and ceiling contractor from Yampa — has served on the South Routt School Board since 2003. He was reappointed board president in November.
Corrigan could not immediately be reached Tuesday night to discuss the upcoming announcement.
The race to replace Commissioner Nancy Stahoviak, who announced in November that she will not seek a sixth term in fall 2012, includes three Republican candidates.
