Steamboat Springs The Soroco High School boys basketball team got another big game from sophomore Ryan Jeep in remaining perfect on the season Friday with a 63-49 win against Vail Mountain.
Jeep, playing against a bigger front line, scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
“That was big for him,” Rams coach Sam McLeod said. “He’s really coming around. The kids he was playing against tonight were good ball players.”
Soroco led, 24-22, at halftime before extending its lead and sealing the game with a run in the third quarter thanks to a switch to man-to-man defense.
Cody McCollum added 14 points, and Nic Paxton had 13 points.
Soroco (4-0) next plays at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Steamboat Springs High School junior varsity team.
