Steamboat Marathon registration open
Wednesday, January 4, 2012
Steamboat Springs Registration is open for the 31st annual Steamboat Marathon.
The half-marathon and marathon races are June 3. There also is a 10-kilometer race and a half-mile Honey Stinger Fun Run.
The marathon is capped at 500 participants, and the half-marathon is capped at 1,200. The 10-kilometer race doesn’t have a cap, and the fun run is capped at 200.
Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Public Relations Manager Michelle Krasilinec said registration is on pace with last year. She said the Chamber expects more entrants this year after Colorado Runner magazine named Steamboat Marathon the “Best Weekend Getaway” in 2011.
Through May 2, the cost is $70 for the marathon, $55 for the half-marathon and $35 for the 10-kilometer race.
To register, go to www.steamboatmarathon.com, or go to www.active.com and enter Steamboat Marathon.
Runners also can register in person at the Steamboat Springs visitor center, 125 Anglers Drive.
Routt County residents will receive $10 off the race registration if signing up in person.
