Northwest Colorado VNA is offering vaccinations
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering DTaP and Tdap vaccinations to protect against whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria for $14. Whooping cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection. The best way to prevent it is through vaccination. DTaP is for children ages 6 and younger, and Tdap, the whooping cough booster vaccine, is for people ages 7 and older. Steamboat Art Museum shop seeks local pieces
The Steamboat Art Museum gift shop is seeking work by local artists and craftspeople. The shop sells artist work on a consignment basis. Proceeds help support the museum. Unframed paintings, prints, drawings or photography as well as hand-crafted works such as jewelry, pottery, textiles and high-quality craft items are welcome. Cultural integration group seeks bilingual volunteers

Bank account established for Jim Dailey’s expenses
Friends and family of Routt County resident Jim Dailey have established an account in his name at Yampa Valley Bank to help with the ongoing cost of medical care and living expenses. Dailey was hurt in late October when he fell from a roof he was building. He crushed a heel and a wrist in the accident. To donate to the Jim Dailey Recovery Fund, stop by Yampa Valley Bank or Healthy Solutions market.
Aging Well has calendars available for winter classes
Aging Well, a program of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, has winter class calendars available. Fitness classes for older adults are offered in Steamboat, Hayden, Oak Creek and Yampa. The winter schedule includes beginner tai chi for health, Arthritis Foundation Exercise and healthier living, a chronic disease self-management workshop. VNA to offer meningitis vaccinations for students
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other leading medical groups recommend meningococcal vaccine for youths ages 11 to 18, as well as those ages 19 to 21 who attend college. College students younger than 22 who received a meningococcal vaccine before age 16 should receive a booster. Newborn Network is a support system dedicated to providing parenting and resource information to all families who live in Routt County and have children as old as 3. Newborn Network’s free services include weekly networking and education groups, parenting education home visits, a lending library of parenting topics and a series of gift bags.
