Steamboat freestylers rip up Durango, Quebec

— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club freestyle moguls team notched a pair of podium finishes during the weekend at the Durango Freestyle Open.

In Saturday’s open moguls event, George DeGrandis led the way for the local contingent with a third-place finish. Brad Hoefer was 11th, Stephen Wilson was 21st and Skyler Kauf was 26th.

Jaelin Kauf led the girls teams with a sixth-place finish. Kira Wright was eighth, Phoebe Tudhope was 19th and Mariell Feilinger was 25th.

In Sunday’s dual moguls, Hoefer finished first, and Skyler Kauf was eighth.

Jaelin Kauf was the top female finisher in fifth.

The team next competes March 3 in Winter Park for the Rocky Mogul Divisionals.

NorAm team finishes up in Canada

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's postgraduate moguls team continued its East Coast swing with a pair of events in Val St. Come, Quebec.

In the girls moguls competition Sunday, Lane Stoltzner led the way for the team with an eighth-place finish. Reed Snyderman was sixth, and Michael DeGrandis was eighth.

In a duals competition Monday, Sophia Schwartz was fifth, and Stoltzner was 13th. Snyderman was fifth, and DeGrandis was 12th.

The team next competes Friday and Sunday in Killington, Vt.
