— The Steamboat Springs High School girls basketball team (12-10) opens the first round of the Class 4A State basketball tournament at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain View (11-12).

Mountain View finished fifth in the Northern League. The Mountain Lions don’t have one standout player but have seven players that average at least three points per game. They are led by Katie Wilson (9.5 points per game) and Kate Annan (8 points per game).

Mountain View and Steamboat each lost to Mead and Windsor, the only two common opponents the teams share.
