Fannie, Freddie listings return to local brokers
The Steamboat Pilot & Today reported last week that a single Front Range broker controls most of the listings of distressed properties owned in Routt County by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two government sponsored institutions that purchase mortgages and in some cases bundle them for the investment market.
However, Realtor Doug Labor confirmed this week that the situation has changed in 2012. While that Front Range broker had the listing side of 30 transactions here in 2011, the number of listings he controls this year has shrunk to two, and several local Realtors have listings with Fannie and Freddie.
