— A night after playing poor and winning, the Soroco High School girls basketball team not only won Saturday evening, but did so while playing well.

Soroco used big second and third quarters to easily beat West Grand, 68-44.

The Rams used 23 point second and third quarters to blow the game open.

After struggling from the field Friday, the Rams shot 42 percent from the field Saturday and had four players score in double figures.

“It was really balanced across the board,” Rams coach David Bruner said.

Madison George led the Rams with 15 points. Lindsay Miles added 13 and Marley Hammer and Jacey Schlegel each had 11.

The Rams also got good news Saturday with the return of senior Shelby Miles. Miles missed most of the season with an injury, but came back Saturday and chipped in seven points.

“She’s a senior and she provided us with a real boost,” Bruner said. “Getting her back helps us a lot. It gives us more experience and we can go one player deeper. Hopefully we’re getting healthy at the right time.”

Soroco next plays at 6 p.m. Tuesday at home against Vail Christian.
