Steamboat Springs Soroco girls basketball coach David Bruner took a slow sigh and delivered the news.
Soroco played poorly, shot downright awful but still managed to come away with a 46-36 win Friday at North Park.
“We won the game,” Bruner said. “That’s about it.”
The Rams were tied at the half and trailed in the third quarter before eventually pulling out the win.
Soroco again was led by the play of seniors Lindsay Miles and Madison George. George had a game-high 20 points, and Miles keyed the late turnaround.
“We’ve got to a certain point where the girls’ expectation is to play well, win or lose,” Bruner said. “They didn’t feel like they played well tonight.”
Soroco (9-5 overall, 5-3 in league play) has little time to think about it. The team plays at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at West Grand.
