The Steamboat Pilot & Today will launch a new Sunday format Jan. 6. The new Sunday tabloid-shaped newspaper will focus on enterprise and investigative reporting and will include separate sections for news, sports and business. Jan. 8 start date for Yampa Valley Singers rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals for the Yampa Valley Singers begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 at the United Methodist Church of Steamboat Springs, 736 Oak St. The registration fee is $35, and new singers are welcome. Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden offers respite care
The Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden offers daytime and overnight respite care for older adults who need supervision. The Adult Activity and Care program is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. The program includes lunch, activities and help with personal care. The cost is $75 per day or $50 for a half-day. Temporary overnight care is available for as many as 30 days for qualified individuals. Clients with memory care needs are welcome at a cost of $100 per day.

Part of Forest Trail 1101 closed for wetlands work
A section of Forest Trail 1101 near Dumont Lake in Routt National Forest will be closed during rehabilitation work on the Four Counties Ditch, according to a news release. The trail will be closed from Dumont Lake to Base Camp Road (Forest Road 311) through part of next year for wetlands rehabilitation work, according to the release. Multiple projects are taking place in the area, including repairs to the Muddy Creek dam on Dumont Lake. The Dumont Lake day-use area and picnic site are closed while the dam is being repaired. VNA offers immunizations for $14 to underinsured
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering $14 immunizations for adults who are uninsured/underinsured including measles, mumps, rubella, HPV, chicken pox, pneumonia, meningitis, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough and hepatitis A and B.
The VNA also is offering a vaccine for shingles. Adults ages 60 and older who are low income and uninsured may qualify to receive the vaccine for a $14 fee through the Merck Patient Vaccine Assistance Program. Apply by scheduling an appointment.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other leading medical groups recommend being vaccinated against meningitis for youths ages 11 to 18 as well as those ages 19 to 21 who attend college. College students younger than 22 who received a vaccine before age 16 should receive a booster.
