Police, fire and ambulance calls
1:02 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a car that hit an elk near mile marker 55 on Colorado Highway 131. The elk died, and the car’s occupants were not hurt.
2:05 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person having difficulty breathing in the 2900 block of West End Avenue.
5:30 a.m. Officers were called to help a child having difficulty breathing at a hotel in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle.
6:40 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of harassment in the 2200 block of County Shop Road.
9:30 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person with a medical issue in Gondola Square.
9:47 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a minor trying to get people to buy him alcohol in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The minor was given a warning.
10:38 a.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a sick person at a hotel in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue.
11:22 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 44300 block of Routt County Road 129.
12:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
1:35 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious man who had been sitting in a car for the past hour at a grocery store parking lot in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Officers reported finding brass knuckles in the door of the man’s car along with an inhalant. The 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon.
2:48 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a noninjury rollover accident at C.R. 14 and Country Green Road.
3:28 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of fraudulent charges on a person’s credit card.
3:36 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a car damaged in the 3700 block of Lincoln Avenue.
4:25 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
4:44 p.m. Officers were called to a report of vandalism at a grocery store in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue.
5:02 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident at Central Park Drive and Mount Werner Road.
5:43 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
5:58 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident at Mount Werner Road and South Lincoln Avenue.
6:26 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a wallet lost in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road.
6:52 p.m. Officers were called to a report of phone harassment in downtown Steamboat.
6:59 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road. Minor injuries were reported.
7 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident on Burgess Creek Road.
8:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of gunshots in the 800 block of Mountain Village Circle. Officers could not find the source of the noise.
10:34 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 2600 block of Cross Timbers Trail.
11:15 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an assault at Walton Creek Road and South Lincoln Avenue. A 25-year-old man reportedly kicked a car because the car drove too close to him and his brother. Police said the driver then got out of the car and was punched by the 25-year-old. He was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.
