New terrain
The ski area's First Tracks program begins today. The Pony Express chairlift, providing access to the ski area's Pioneer Ridge terrain, is scheduled to open Sunday.
According to the 5 a.m. snow report, the mountain is now 85 percent open.

Forecast
As of 5 a.m., it was 19 degrees at mid-mountain. Today's high is supposed to reach the mid-20s under mostly sunny skies.
The next chance of snow comes Christmas Eve, with a fresh coat of powder possible for Christmas Day skiing.
Avalanche danger is considerable in the backcountry.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is reporting two observed avalanches Thursday on Buffalo Pass.
