U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team gets back on track at World Cup

Steamboat Springs The U.S. Nordic combined team got its best finish of the year Saturday at a World Cup event in Ramsau, Austria.
Steamboat Springs’ Bryan Fletcher finished eighth while brother Taylor Fletcher notched a career-best, 10th-place finish. Taylor Fletcher jumped to 37th before blistering the cross-country skiing.
Norway’s Magnus Moan was first followed by teammate Mikko Kokslien and Germany’s Fabian Riessle.
Olympic gold medalist Billy Demong was 16th.
The team continues action Sunday with a Normal Hill Gundersen event.
Lodwick dominates Continental Cup
For the second straight day, Steamboat Springs’ Todd Lodwick showed the young guys how it’s done.
Lodwick, taking a week off from the World Cup circuit, picked up his second straight Continental Cup victory.
Michael Ward, who had a career-best second Friday, was 10th. Brett Denney was 23rd.
