Steamboat's Jeremy Cota takes 3rd at freestyle moguls World Cup

Steamboat Springs Steamboat Springs freestyle moguls skier Jeremy Cota kicked off the World Cup season with a third-place finish Saturday in Ruka, Finland.
Competing in dual moguls, Cota threw a back full and a back-X in notching a podium finish.
Cota was eliminated by Olympic gold medalist Alexander Bilodeau. Canadian Mikael Kingsbury was first.
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club member Pat Deneen was fifth. American Heather McPhie paced the United States with a win. Steamboat Springs skier Eliza Outtrim was ousted in the Round of 16, eventually finishing 10th. The World Cup continues next weekend in Kreischberg, Austria.
