— A Steamboat Springs teen arrested last week pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal mischief related to spraying graffiti in Steamboat Springs and Yampa.

Dustin L. Thorsen, 18, still was in custody when he appeared in court. He represented himself and accepted a plea agreement offered by the Routt County District Attorney’s Office. As part of the deal, four other charges were dropped.

Thorsen was sentenced to the amount of time he already has spent in jail, one year of supervised probation and 96 hours of public service.

Thorsen also will have to pay for the damage he caused with the spray paint. He could face future consequences, as well, because he was on parole when he committed the crimes. His juvenile record is not available to the public.
