Steamboat Springs Ryan Jeep had 18 points to lead the Soroco High School boys basketball team, but that wasn’t enough for the struggling Rams. Soroco lost its third game in as many days at the Meeker Cowboy Shootout, falling, 79-31, to Little Snake River High School from Baggs, Wyo.
“We ran into a pretty darn tough team,” coach Jake Eskridge said. “Their speed, their athleticism and the way they play up and down the court was too much.”
Soroco again was without an important piece. Jeep played well in the Meeker tournament after missing the season’s first game, but Matt Regan and AJ Anderson couldn’t play Saturday.
It all has added up to a stagnant offense for the Rams.
“We just can’t find a way to score,” Eskridge said. “Chemistry-wise, we haven't put the pieces together yet. Hopefully, we'll get everybody back next week, and we can get back on track.”
The loss dropped Soroco to 0-4 on the season.
