— A Steamboat Springs teen was arrested Wednesday night and is suspected of being responsible for recent incidents of graffiti.

Dustin L. Thorsen, 18, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of criminal mischief.

Steamboat Springs Police Department officer Sam Silva said Thorsen first was contacted by police early Wednesday morning after he and two other young males ran from officers. Police later discovered graffiti on Weiss Drive and in the tunnel underneath U.S. Highway 40 at Walton Creek Road. Previously, graffiti with the letters TNO had been reported at the Yampa Valley School and on cars.

Silva said that during the investigation, Thorsen was contacted, and he had paint on his hands. Thorsen later admitted he had done the graffiti.
