Scholarships available for some Book Feast tickets

Scholarships are available for general admission tickets to the children’s Book Feast, a new event that promotes literacy, books, reading and art for school-age children. Book Feast begins the evening of Sept. 7 and continues Sept. 8 at Bud Werner Memorial Library and the Depot Art Center. The scholarships are funded through a donation from the Northwest Colorado Bar Association. Seven winners will be chosen from Routt, Moffat and Grand counties. Apply at www.steamboatlibrary.org/childrens-book-feast/scholarships. The deadline to enter is Monday. Email Youth Services Librarian Sarah Kostin at skostin@steamboatlibrary.org with questions, comments or to make a donation to Book Feast.

Routt County DMV to send out registration renewals

The Routt County Department of Motor Vehicles will send out vehicle registration renewal cards with a new look beginning Saturday, according to a news release. The cards were redesigned by the Colorado Department of Revenue to comply with U.S. Postal Service standards and no longer will include the blue return mail label. The new cards are white with black printing.
