Steamboat Springs snowboarders shine in New Zealand

Steamboat Springs The 2014 Olympic qualifying period opened Sunday in New Zealand with the FIS World Cup half-pipe in Cardrona.
The event marks the first event of the Olympic qualifying period, which lasts for the next 17 months.
Steamboat’s Matt Ladley was the top male American, finishing fourth.
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club member Benji Farrow was 14th, and Taylor Gold was 16th.
On the women’s side, Steamboat’s Arielle Gold was 14th.
