Police, fire and ambulance calls
12:38 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear in the 700 block of Conifer Circle. It was scared away.
2:12 a.m. Officers were called to a report of loud music and yelling in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. A verbal warning was given.
4:29 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear on Cypress Court. It was scared away.
5:10 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was sick in the 200 block of West Washington Avenue in Hayden.
5:40 a.m. Colorado State Patrol troopers were called to a report of a noninjury accident near mile marker 126 on U.S. Highway 40.
6:03 a.m. Firefighters were called to a report of a car that hit a deer near mile marker 116 on U.S. 40. The car’s airbag deployed, but no one was injured.
7:29 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who died in the 2900 block of Trails Edge. An elderly woman died of natural causes.
8:14 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a rollover accident near mile marker 59 on Colorado Highway 131. No one was injured.
8:40 a.m. Officers were called to a report of graffiti on the Yampa River Core Trail.
9:10 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a motel in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue. A couple was having a verbal argument, and they were separated.
10:05 a.m. Officers were called to a report of unsecured trash on Walton Creek Road.
10:18 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to a report of a wildfire near Oak Leaf Way. The half-acre fire was put out, and there was no damage. It is suspected that lightning caused the fire.
10:46 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a vehicle fire on Walton Creek Road and South Lincoln Avenue. A trailer with equipment to install spray foam had caught on fire, and the trailer was destroyed.
11:48 a.m. Officers were called to a report of unsecured trash that was attracting bears in the first block of Spruce Street.
12:45 p.m. Found sunglasses were turned in at the police station.
1:09 p.m. Officers were called to help a person who had a fur coat stolen from a hotel last year in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle. The person wanted help in obtaining security camera footage. The footage no longer was available.
3:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who was trying to sell stolen goods during a tent sale in the Meadows Parking Lot. The person left when confronted, and officers were unable to make contact.
3:57 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an assault in Steamboat. A woman said her child had been assaulted several weeks ago.
3:58 p.m. Officers were called to a report of fraud. A person’s credit card had been stolen and used three times in Steamboat.
4:07 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident at Third Street and Lincoln Avenue.
4:08 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person missing in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The person was located.
6:56 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a motorcycle speeding at Stone Lane and Hiawatha Court.
7:10 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken woman in the 1900 block of Shield Drive. A 38-year-old Steamboat woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order, which forbid her from drinking alcohol. She also was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting related to several hundred dollars' worth of goods taken from a hardware store.
8:09 p.m. Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers were called about a possible search in Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area. The person was located without a search.
8:20 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of power lines down in the 200 block of South Sharp Avenue in Oak Creek.
9:25 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of gunshots in the 40500 block of Anchor Way.
9:33 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a loud party in the first block of Spruce Street. A verbal warning was given.
10:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 1300 block of Sparta Plaza. It was chased away.
10:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 2000 block of Walton Creek Road. It was chased away.
10:24 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person with an unknown medical issue on Howelsen Hill.
