After 10 years with Yampa Valley Bank, Kathryn Pedersen is moving on. But she’s not moving away. Pedersen has joined PrimeSource Mortgage Inc. as the mortgage originator for the company’s new Steamboat Springs office.

“There’s some change. I have a new office space,” Pedersen said. But what she does every day and the services she provides largely will remain the same, she said.

Pedersen’s new office will be a sub-branch of PrimeSource’s regional lending center in Grand Junction. Part of an increase in speed of service will come from having those resources so close, Pedersen said.

It was a tough choice to leave Yampa Valley Bank, she said, but the logistical benefits of the center in Grand Junction and the firm originating a large amount of U. S. Department of Agriculture loans drew her in.

“I wish Kathryn well,” said P.J. Wharton, president of Yampa Valley Bank. “She’s a strong mortgage broker.”

Wharton said he has confidence in mortgage officer Holly Rodgers and the rest of the team. “Yampa Valley Bank is a very strong, safe and secure bank, and that has a great deal to do with our customers’ confidence,” he said.

PrimeSource Mortgage Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly-traded PSM Holdings Inc.

According to an equity research report, PSM Holdings Inc. has undergone recent growth in its loan production from the acquisition of five companies within the past 15 months.

The report also states that the company has further plans to grow through the opening of new branch offices with experienced mortgage lenders like Pedersen.

Pedersen said she is set to do well more than $30 million in loan production this year.

James Pulsipher and Jared Peterson from our Grand Junction center are in the process of building an incredible regional operation, which leads our company in loan production,” said Ron Hanna, president and CEO of PSM Holdings Inc., in a news release.

Pedersen said she thought she’d have a few days before things heated up at the new office, but that hasn’t been the case.

It’s been “pretty busy already,” she said. “I’m excited so far.”
