Steamboat Springs — Fans of the effort to preserve the historic Crossan’s M&A Market building in Yampa can support that mission and others like it across Colorado on Thursday while watching a new documentary film about the lengthy process of building Colorado’s state Capitol building.

The screening of the film “Colorado’s Greatest Treasure,” by Havey Productions, also is in support of the Share and the Care campaign to restore the Colorado Statehouse dome. Crossan’s M&A Market, one of the first commercial buildings in South Routt, is on the State Historical Fund’s list of Colorado’s Most Endangered Places.

The suggested donation at the door of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, which will host the screening of the film, is $10.

“Our state Capitol is an iconic symbol reflecting the past, present and future of all Coloradans,” film director Jim Havey wrote in a press release. “This film takes you behind the scenes and tells the stories of the people who built and have worked in this magnificent building. It is a story that inspires a deep appreciation for Colorado’s history, from the turbulent territorial era and the protracted process of constructing a Capitol building to the Capitol’s distinctive adornments utilizing glass, marble, bronze, textile and pigment to form unique portraits of the people and events that influenced the state’s development."
