Steamboat police respond after golfer reportedly punches another
Sunday, August 19, 2012
Steamboat Springs Steamboat Springs Police Department officers rode in golf carts to the 12th hole of the Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club on Sunday afternoon to mediate a heated argument between golfers that started over the placement of flags in the holes.
Steamboat Springs police Sgt. John McCartin said officers were called to the course at 2:33 p.m. after a woman from Steamboat Springs allegedly punched a man from Denver.
McCartin said the woman was upset because the man's golfing party was “not putting the flags back in the holes properly.”
“They had a verbal argument, and someone got punched,” McCartin said.
He said that the man who was punched didn't require medical attention and that no charges were pursued as a result of the incident.
